The McFarland Tailwind rod series is a bit special. It is deep loading but recovers very quickly, loads easily at close distance but is able to put out a long line with ease. It controls the line precisely and with authority and has plenty of reserve power. It is also very light in the hand and like all of Mike McFarlands rod designs, exquisitely smooth.
This one is a 9′ 3wt. 4 pc. finished by Sandy Nelson to his usual faultless high standard.
